About

ScalpEm.com was created on April 1, 2004. Original ScalpEm.com LogoOriginally intended to be only a message board, ScalpEm.com quickly grew into a full-fledged content-based website, with articles and photos. Its second version debuted in June of 2005, marking the switch from PHPBB to a true CMS, PostNuke. Achieving over 2 million hits in two years and averaging 45,000 pageviews per month, ScalpEm exceeded the expectations of most people. It has even ruffled a few feathers of other website owners along the way, all in an attempt to make FSU coverage better.

Version 2 Logo

The third incarnation of ScalpEm.com was dedicated to having free photo galleries available to everyone, and to continuing the tradition of sharing opinions through the ScalpEm.com blog. Yes, the message board is gone, but a new commenting system is available, and should keep participants on topic. The Photo Album is free, and has a rating system to rate the best photographs.

Version 4, launched November 7, 2007 as a site freshening.  More information up front, and less scrolling, was a good thing for our users. We’ve also added an easy to use menu bar at the top of the blog, just under the logo. Maybe everyone can find the photo gallery now? :)

Version 5 launched on July 29, 2009 as a complete site redesign. Powered by the latest and greatest version of WordPress (still), ScalpEm.com features a new layout with two right sidebars and all of the content readers crave on the left. The sidebars are clearer than before, which should make life easier on readers and make it easy to find the content they’re looking for!

Version 6 debuted on January 29, 2010. I finally ponied up for a commercially supported WordPress theme (thank you StudioPress!). The main flow of the site is similar to before, but much better under the hood and much cleaner with a bigger Garnet & Gold feel. I’ll be adding new features to the site over the next few months, so it’s yet again an exciting time in ScalpEm.com history.
