Epic Win For The Noles Is EPIC

How awesome was last night?

It was more AWESOME than a Thunderstruck / Ghostbusters mashup:

It was more AWESOME than an electrified STATUE OF LIBERTY:

It was BETTER THAN MOONWALKING:

Seriously, the Noles were in control of that game last night. CONTROL. I’d say it felt like the 90s again, but last night was even better. Games in the 90s were generally close. Every time I thought the Noles were going to mess up and let Miami back in it, someone came up big. As the game went on, I actually EXPECTED a good play by the Noles instead of a bad one.

Big time Kudos to Mark Stoops and the defense. Despite ABC talking about Jacory Harris pulled groin (note to Jacory, groin is on either side, not what you were grabbing), the defense was huge. They harassed Miami all night and didn’t need crazy blitzes to do so. For the offense it looked like Jermaine Thomas brought out a special speed just for the Canes and Chris Thompson continued to play well. Dustin Hopkins continues to be big for the Noles and finally there was a couple of good returns for FSU too. What a great night to be a fan! It was nice to watch a well coached team and a good game plan be executed on the road against a good team. I never would have guessed. 45-17. No way.

As for the “FSU is back crowd.” No, they’re not back. They’re new. This is the new beginning fans have been waiting for, it’s time to wake up and enjoy and stop living in the past. Celebrate it of course, but these Noles are an entirely different branch of the family tree. They’re fresh, new and exciting. FSU is heeeeeeeeeeeeeeere!

To sum up my pregame vs postgame feelings:

I loved the game! Too bad ABC/ESPN decided to “cut away” to the USC/Stanford game midway through the 4th quarter. I wanted to see the victory celebration (and we missed the 90-yard run late in the game).

Thankfully they didn’t do that in Tallahassee, but I feel sorry for most of the eastern half of the country that did. Thompson’s run was great, so was the 60 yarder on the play before it that he ran which was called back.

The ABC that we had did that in the sports bar I was at (in panama) I went to the control booth and found a feed just in time for the thompson run.

There should be a Disclaimer before the game that they might do that so people can prepare
