Time for some commentary, since I haven’t been able to provide it during my recovery from, you know, breaking my face with a softball.
1-3 - They’re all #1 in my heart. Just kidding. Texas looked the best this week, so they get my vote for #1. For now. Florida looked better than Alabama. Frankly, none of the top 3 matters until after the championship games in December, so moving them around doesn’t bother me.
4-6 – Unchanged. I believe Boise is better than both Cincinnati and Iowa, although I have suspicions that Iowa will keep plodding along reliably like a Honda Element and the Hawkeyes might just throw a wrench into everything by season’s end.
7-10 – GT moves up one spot by virtue of Miami losing to Clemson (that was a heck of a game), and beating Virginia soundly. TCU moves up 3 spots after solidly beating BYU, but I don’t bump them higher because I’ve thought BYU was suspect ever since FSU handed them a beatdown in Provo. LSU moves up 1 and Southern Cal moves down 1 because they haven’t been impressive to me the last two weeks.
11-15 – Oregon climbs towards the Top 10, which continues to make Boise State look good in my eyes. The Ducks have played very, very well since that opening game loss. Penn State moves up a couple, VT stays the same and Oklahoma State moves up a couple, all thanks to Miami dropping like a rock to #15.
16-25 – I really, really wanted to rank Navy this week at 6-2, but I couldn’t find the room. If they beat Wake Forest next weekend, they’re in for a ranked matchup against Notre Dame the following weekend. I don’t know how anybody ranks a 3 loss Oklahoma team at this point. They’re not deserving, even with a win over Kansas. I still have some faith in Reesing and his WRs, so I kept them in at #25.
Leave me your suggestions by Tuesday night and I can make changes!
