Andrew Carter Interviews Jeff Bowden

I’m sure you’re thinking, Bill… why would I care about Andrew Carter interviewing Jeff Bowden?

Bill, Jeff Bowden doesn’t coach at FSU anymore, why do I care?

Bill, seriously man he’s at North Alabama now, with Terry. We don’t care.

Bill. For real. I don’t want to relive that God-awful era by reading a Jeff Bowden interview.

To that, I say you should care, since your Booster money is still going to him. Why? Because Terry Bowden was kind enough to get him as a volunteer at North Alabama. We are financing Bowdens that don’t coach here anymore, to the tune of $107,500 / year through the 2011 football season.

Jeff Bowden wishes he had done a better job?
Don’t we all wish that he had!
Don’t we wish that nepotism followed by large financial benefit packages for bad performance didn’t exist now, then or ever; anywhere, but especially at FSU!
I don’t wish any ill toward Jeff Bowden or his family, but sympathy is not the emotion that most fans and supporters feel.
Jeff, while you cash your checks from FSU, try to have sympathy for the many FSU employees, supporters and fans who have done a good job, but lost their employment due to the greed, bonuses etc. of the last few years.
Don’t we all wish that everyone could under-perform, lose their job, but still draw a paycheck for several years!

I don’t wish Jeff any ill will. He tried and it just didn’t work. Unfortunately where the offense is concerned the OC will take a ton of flak when things don’t go well. So good luck to him at N Alabama. But if one thing really bugs me about this it’s the paying him to resign. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that with an asst coach.

  3. So I am probably beating a dead horse, but Tony Barnhart wrote this article on today on Bobby Bowden and FSU vacating wins:

    thoughts?

@2 I’m with you BFT on not wishing Jeff ill will. It’s actually a very good interview too, I’m just sick of paying him. The fact that Terry “hired” him as a volunteer isn’t Jeff’s fault, but it reeks of sketchy to me.

@3 I understand both sides of the argument. Barnhart’s point is valid, but I’m not sure what the NCAA can do otherwise that doesn’t “hurt” more than the current punishment. More scholarship losses really penalizes a school. Frankly I’m so sick of hearing about it, and wasting booster money on appealing, that I just want it to be over.
