FSU Softball Update (Thanks Nancy)

Thanks to ScalpEm.com reader Nancy for keeping us informed via the comments:

“Rafter is coming back as a Student Assistant and Michelle Snyder is coming back as a grad assistant – both welcome additions to the coaching staff.
Heard Rafter also attracted players looking to learn from one of the best catchers out there. Watch for news of a couple transfers coming to FSU for the 09/10 season.”

Oops – forgot to mention this tidbit of information from July 2, 2009:
NCAA 2008-09 Postgraduate Scholarship Women’s Spring Sports Awardees from the State of Florida:

Stacey Nelson, Softball, Florida – 3.56 GPA (Philosophy)
Kaleigh Rafter, Softball, Florida State – 4.0 GPA (Criminology)

Congrats to these girls – especially to Rafter representing FSU!!”

Thanks for the info Nancy, nice to have a softball fix in July! So, if we are getting some transfers, I would assume we are also going to lose some players. Nancy, any idea the talent level of those looking to don the garnet and gold?

  3. Nancy says:

    Transfers:
Tory Haddad – Sr. from Ohio State 1B/3B (hometown Valparaiso, FL, sibling attends FSU)
Jen Lapicki – Jr. from Univ. of Tennessee C/1B (chose FSU over UNC….and many others who were courting her).

    Thanks again Nancy!

Wow, great players. Nancy, will Coach A’s ability to lure great transfers translate into landing great recruits?

  6. Nancy says:

hopefully but I think it will take a few good years of winning seasons to be able to consistently attract the big recruits

Just heard Hanna Rodgers signed with Florida! That makes three top recruits lost from Graf recruiting. Sperin, Fagaly, and now Rodgers. Three top notch recruits.
