I’m lookin’ at you Georgia Tech. Yeah that’s right.
I KNOW I should hate Miami more, but I don’t. Every experience I’ve directly had with GT fans (minus the guys at Legacy x4… but I haven’t actually met them remember), has been one of a foul mouthed, drunken moron. What’s that? You say, college football fans in general act like drunken morons? Well yes, that’s true, but they don’t start yapping about their technical degrees and that they’re SMARTER than you during the diatribe.
I miss the days of a yearly battle between FSU / GT. One of the best games I ever attended was the Joe Hamilton / Chris Weinke affair years ago that was the Keith Jackson definition of a “barn burner.” There was no defense in that 41-35 victory over the Yellow Jackets, and the Yellow Jacket fans were exceptionally (and they’d continually tell you how exceptional they were) obnoxious. Toss in the 2000 campaign and a skin-of-the-teeth win by FSU in Atlanta, with the same brilliant students yapping about “almost beating FSU” and telling the quiet “thank-God-the-Noles-survived-that” FSU fans to shut thier f’ing mouths!
GT has a special place in my heart thanks to those experiences, how about you? Do you hate any particular ACC team the most? It doesn’t just have to be football experience either!

Miami takes the cake…
Most of my friends and some co workers of mine are all Miami fans… and every single one of them run there mouths non stop… it doesnt matter we beat them this year or the last couple… Its all about the past….
Out of all of the bad experiences that I’ve had with Miami and UF fans, none of them have compared to the Virginia Tech fans at the Inaugural ACC Championship Game. My friends and I never said a word to anyone (none of my 3 friends that went with me went to FSU – Kansas State, Washburn Univ, and Univ. of Delaware instead). The night before the game, a group of VT frat douches tried to start a fight with us at the Landing because they thought we were looking at “their” women. Then on the way to the game, we were screamed and yelled at, had beer and food thrown at us, etc. Once inside the stadium, we were going to our seats and a Hokie fan grabbed my buddy and said, “Don’t say a word, don’t you f&*(ing say a word to me, you son of a bitch!” as we tried to get by him to our seats in the same row. Of course after the game, these people had all hightailed it out of there. Awful people, awful fans, and now my hatred of VT is pretty close to the top of my hate list for sports.

Clemson… unrealistic if not outright delusional expectations every year, ugly girls in sun dresses, and that stupid f-ing rock.
@5… I dunno GH, I’ve seen some attractive Clemson girls.
Oh I have too, its just the ones that were sitting a couple of rows away from me last season at the game in Doak were frightening.
Miami. The bandwagon fans push them over the top of UVA.

I remember the FSU series, I was but a wee child but every year, when FSU came up on the schedule I remembered the heartbreaking losses (and the blowouts) that we suffered against you. So I will give it a tie between Virginia Tech and FSU. VT for recent reasons (though I love going to Blacksburg because I KNOW that I am in enemy territory) and FSU simply because yall knew how to break my heart every year.
@9… good point about engineering. In FSU’s defense, being surrounded by so many beautiful women is stressful too… or something.
Can’t stand Clemson. ‘03 was my frosh season. Clemson came in after Reggie Ball had said “we won’t lose another game…” Well, Clemson beat us 39-3… The fans wouldn’t leave the area. Purple underpants parading up and down the street ’til 4 AM and my dorm was on Bobby Dodd… Can’t stand ‘em at all. That game still stings albeit the Calvin Johnson game trumps it 10 fold.
For those who have not have the pleasure of going to Clemson and (DEATH VALLEY: the loudest fans in the ACC or so they think) it is a complete trash hole in the woods. I have been to a couple games up there and it is a orange box like Home Depot and the fans are horrible, ignorance and inbreeding has left them delirious about the “grande illusion” they will win it all every year. Oh and they talk major junk in Doak as well, but go up there and it is way worse.
@12 Man you’re freakin’ crazy. I absolutely love going to Clemson. Got a bar problem? The bouncers kick out their own. Tailgating at the YMCA lot? Free bus to take you over the lake. Have never once had a problem with their fans. Worse thing I ever got was a “Yall are gonna lose” at a McDonald’s one morning. Was kind of disappointed actually.
Without question it is Virginia. Snob fans without the pedigree to back the trash talk up. NC State and Maryland are not far behind.

As a GT alumnus I can tell you that, for one reason or another, GT fans really hate FSU and maybe thats why you have had all these bad experiences.
The hate is probably due to all the times FSU beat us and I can remember slowly growing a special hatred for FSU after going to all those home games against the Noles in which we always lost. (However UGA is still the most hated)
So last year was a huge sigh of relief and joy for all GT fans.
Our toughest game next season will likely be @ FSU.
P.S. our favorite song at FSU games was to the tune of your fight song…
