Seminole Softball Is Coming Next Week

The Noles head to Austin for the Texas Invitational, which will be a test for a revamped coaching staff and a revamped Seminole club. FSU takes on Iowa & Texas on Feb 6, and Stephen F. Austin on Feb 7. The big question for 2009… pitching, pitching, pitching. Can Terese Gober (above) recover from a sophomore slump? Can Sarah Hamilton develop into a dominating force on the mound, and what contributions will newcomer Lauren Varsalona make? If the Noles expect to be competitive this season, their pitching is going to have to keep them in the tough games, unlike the last few seasons.

I question the girls on the squad the last few years. With all due respect to Coach Graf, she recruited, unbeknownest to her at the time, players that came to college to party and not play softball.

Judging by some of the photos I was sent last year that I chose not to post, and other pictures that showed up in the Tallahassee Democrat, I can’t disagree with you Ed. Hopefully the ladies are focused this season and / or Coach Alameda can recruit her ladies down the road.
