So… the FSU Seminoles are no longer the ACC favorite.
All I have to say is DUH.
The Noles have been placed way too high in the preseason ACC polls for the last 5 years. I guess a “reputation” keeps you ranked highly, when you’re not deserving, kind of like Notre Dame. FSU had problems and they continue to have problems. Offensive Line? Thin, which means unless everyone stays healthy, there are less holes for the running backs and the quarterbacks spend a lot of time doing Ken O’Brien imitations.
FSU is picked to finish third in the Atlantic Division, behind ACC favorite Clemson and overachieving Wake Forest. What’s assinine is that the Noles managed to get a first place vote. What’s even more assinine? Miami, Georgia Tech and Virginia received first place votes in the Coastal Divsion. Hardee har har.
So what do you guys think? Is third about right? Should the Noles be lower, behind Boston College, Maryland and / or N.C. State?

I can see them finshing anywhere from first to fourth depending on how intoxicated I am. Every ACC team has a glaring weakness, but at least the seemingly pivotal games are at Doak. Clemson is the media darling because of recognized players, but as we all saw the past few years, the last place to be thin/young is the OL. The league is a toss up in my opinion and I think odds makers will agree, point spreads in the ACC will resemble NFL lines…at least this year. Lets not kid ourselves, the Noles problems will persist with underclassmen upfront, so lets hope for some old school play calling and lazy gate security (so we can smuggle more booze into games).
Cheers-
