JoAnne Graf Retires From FSU Softball

Scott Carter weighs in on his blog about Dr. Graf’s retirement.

So does the Tallahassee Democrat.

Dr. JoAnne Graf’s retirement ends an era of FSU Softball that lasted for 30 years. 1437 wins later, Dr. Graf decided to step away from the field and move into teaching sports management at Florida State University.  She never had a losing season at FSU.

In way, this was a good idea, because unless something drastic changes for next year and the new coach, next season might be close to a losing season.

Noles Face Canes In CWS Elimination Game

I’m so tired of suffering through a game like the loss to Stanford. On the bright side, Mike Martin didn’t blow that game. I thought his decisions were pretty well thought out, but the players just didn’t get it done. Buster Posey didn’t have the stuff to close it out, and the offense couldn’t get runners in. From the offensive point of view, the game reminded me of the Bucknell Regional game, where the Noles had runners in scoring position but it was always with two outs.

Either way, the Noles take on the Canes today in an elimination game, FSU’s 7th of the playoffs. Expect it to be their last, since I don’t think the Noles will get by the Canes today. FSU is one of the worst fielding teams in the country, and that catches up to teams at the CWS. It did on Saturday, it will again today. Two and Q for the Noles.

FSU Track Three-Peats

The Seminole Track team kicked butt again. I know absolutely nothing about Track other than FSU is apparently dominant. Check out the article on Seminoles.com.

How many more years of underachieving? How many more times will we have the best player in the country and not win? 11 runs in one inning and you say he didn’t blow the game? I wouldn’t blame him for the first 2-3, but at what point does the head coach say “I am damaging my chances for tomorrow worse by getting slaughtered today than putting an arm out there that I won’t be able to use Monday.” Anyway, I hope today is the last game of Mike Martin’s underachieving FSU career.

Why do you build me (build me up)
Buttercup, baby, just to let me down

I am beginning to hate bar-b-que because of the Noles

Did I mention that I loathe Meeamee?

It’s time for Mike Martin to go. 13 trips and nothing. enough is enough. the guy just can’t get it done.
