FSU Softball swept the N.C. State Wolfpack at JoAnne Graf Field over the weekend. Check out the latest photo album of the team in their pink jerseys. The Noles wore pink jerseys, which were auctioned off after Saturday’s weather-delayed Game 1, to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Senior Tiffany McDonald continued to close in on FSU’s all time strikeout mark. She needs only 7 to break the school record.  Whitney Buckmon, Brittany Osmon, Kelly Langston and Robyn Petrovich were honored before the Sunday game as part of Senior Day.  The Noles head to Michigan for a doubleheader on Wednesday, before the ACC Tournament starts on May 8.

FSU Baseball is taking on UNC… it’s another Top 3 match-up in college baseball. I’d tell you to check it out, however it’s not on TV here. If you’d like to throw up in your mouth a little bit, check out the palace that UNC is building for the Tar Heels at Boshamer.com. TTrust me I love Dick Howser Stadium, but that looks AWESOME.

FSU Softball has it’s final home series of the year at JoAnne Graf Field. At Saturday’s early game (2 p.m.) the Noles will sport pink jerseys to support Breast Cancer Awareness. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Sometimes ScalpEm.com reporter, Randy will be taking photos in my place, since I’ll be out of town. If the photos are all of TMac, I take no blame. Sunday is Senior Day, so get out there to thank Kelly Langston, Tiffany McDonald, Whitney Buckmon, Brittany Osmon, and Robyn Petrovich!

Boy… I just love the fact that FSU went out on a limb to schedule Maine for a football game in 2009. That’s just fantastic, and I’m happy to pay $40+ to sit and watch that.

The FSU fans reaction is still unacceptable, but look at “Da U” and the celebration. Kind of ridiculous for a regular season matchup, no?

Forget about the fact that Friday night was brutal for the Noles, Saturday night was great and Sunday might have been a huge comeback had it not been for a travel curfew on Miami’s part.  The hatred between the FSU Baseball team and Miami Hurricanes went up another notch on the dial on Sunday, when the Canes decided to taunt the Noles at home plate, and then some classless FSU fans decided to spit on a Hurricane player and attempt to dump drinks on them.

Wake up fans, that was a poor move, no matter how moronic the Canes’ players acted.

The good news? Martin went to his bullpen early on Sunday, unlike Friday night. Although the results were mixed on Sunday, and generally bad, at least Elih Villanueva was out of there after being ineffective.  Mike McGee threw well, and the bats eventually woke up. Buster Posey must be counting $’s in his dreams. If he’s not a Top 5 pick at catcher in the MLB draft, I’ll be shocked. And, Jason Stidham looks like he’s coming out of a bit of a slump.

That’s all good news for the Noles, who have some tough ACC series remaining before the ACC tournament.
