Drew Weatherford

FSU Offensive Coordinator, Jimbo Fisher, named his starting QB for the Clemson game, and it’s none other than Drew Weatherford. Weatherford impressed Jimbo Fisher by doing the little thing right during two-a-days. Let the arguing between Seminole fans begin yet again.

WOW! Just kidding. I wasn’t really surprised by that announcement at all. It seemed kinda obvious from all the reports I’ve read.

  2. I think if I was a seminole fan I would be happy about this decision.

I’m in that camp TBIG. The folks that kill me are the ones that talk about Xavier never getting a shot. He’s had shots, he just hasn’t been any more impressive than Drew. In game situations they’ve been very equal in that both have had highlights and lowlights, Weatherford’s are magnified by the fact that he’s seen the majority of the playing time.

Any truth to the rumor that after being announced the starter…

Weatherford promptly threw three INTs to attending sportswriters…

Same ole QB in a new offense. What could go wrong?
Don’t think many were shocked by that call, except for the guys at ESPN, who do about as much research as a 6th grader using copy and paste for his book report.

Hippy… Give Weatherford some credit, he’s just over even on his career… so with those 3 INTs he threw 3 TDs ;-)

DMD… you and I both know that lots can go wrong. But if Antone Smith can stay healthy and the O-line can block someone, anyone, it’ll be better than in recent years.

    That’s the truth.
It will be interesting to see if there are growing pains in this new offensive system for the QB…who has not been stellar in the past under the “Jump Ball Offense.”
As for the O-Line blocking…I think that’s probably the biggest key to FSU’s season…and the one with the most questionable outlook. They’ve lost a few big guys in the offseason and the one’s returning weren’t overachieving, by any stretch. If Trickett can teach those guys how to block, and if FSU can actually get O-Line recruits instead of just LB recruits, then there’s a legit shot at moving back up near the top of the ACC. If not, long depressing road for you and other real fans.

Great choice by Jimbo. I’m not too surprised though, Lee is just too inaccurate from what I’ve seen.
