Ecstatic Noles Love Emerald Nuts, Kick Bruins, 44-27

It was thrilling. It was spectacular. It was unexpected. The Florida State University Seminoles played like the Seminoles of the 90’s by knocking out the UCLA Bruins in the 4th quarter at the Emerald Bowl last night. The Noles, who at one point in the 2nd quarter, trailed 20-10, blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown. The defense, once again, did more than their share of scoring, thanks to a Tony Carter Pick-6 in the 4th quarter that iced the game. Lorenzo Booker was named MVP of the Emerald Bowl for his 91-yard rushing, 117-yard receiving (on 5 receptions), 2 TD performance.

The victory gives FSU players and fans a new sense of optimism for 2007. With a change in offensive coaching staff, and a new mindset and work ethic for the players, FSU’s talent will rear its head again soon. Last night proved that FSU still has talent, they just need to be coached up a bit. And FSU’s defense continues to reload each year. Big plays from Lawrence Timmons, Dekota Watson and Myron Rolle show FSU’s youth, flexibility and power.

7-6 is better than 6-7 Seminole fans, and last night it was fun to watch FSU football. Enjoy the bowl win, and be optimistic heading into 2007.

And I’d like to say BruinBlitz.com is in meltdown… but I don’t think anyone cares at the UCLA Rivals.com site.

love the Ecstatic Noles line. Classic.

wow, what a game. I could hardly breathe after running around the apartment waving my hands in the air like a madman after Tony Carter’s INT….

just… beautiful. finally a big win to close out the year.

and – the definition of gator logic…. we beat UCLA who beat USC who destroyed Notre Dame….

so we’[re better than Notre Dame. and thats just FINE in my book.

Nothing like a game-icing TD return to get the tension out of the air! I intended on going to bed at half time, but the Noles kept it close and I’m glad I stuck around at Noleman13’s place to watch it all in HD glory. :)
