Emerald Bowl Prediction

The 2006 Seminole Football season mercifully ends tonight at the Emerald Bowl in San Francisco. I could try to tell you that the ‘Noles are going to come out of tunnel fired-up and ready to play. Perhaps some of them will, but history tells us that the 2006 edition of the ‘Noles is far from excited to play. History also tells us that, in recent years, FSU has not done a very good job of preparing for bowl games. The ‘Noles generally look flat for a half, adjust at halftime and try to pull out the victory in the 4th quarter. That might have been good enough for more talented Seminole teams, but not this crew.

The UCLA Bruins have the best Defensive Ends in the nation. The FSU Offensive Line can’t block. Drew Weatherford is starting. Seminole fans had better have some Rolaids laying around to spell relief. Heck, even the Bruins MLB Christian Taylor said, “If we lose this game, then the SC game meant nothing.” And while I don’t agree with Bruins Nation assessment that FSU has a legendary coach with a washed-up program, I know for a fact that FSU has lame-duck coaches on offense. Normally, I would argue that lame-duck coaches have nothing to lose, so they open up the playbook and let it all hang out.

There’s only one problem for FSU, they’ve worn out their PS2 controllers by “Asking Lee Corso” one too many times.

Bruins 21, Noles 13 in a defensive battle. UCLA gets to look forward to next year, and FSU faces itself in the mirror after a horrendous 6-7 season.

    fsu 17 – ucla 14.

ucla doesnt have much to play for, either. FSU = a few seniors trying to play there way into the draft, Buster Davis, and Lorenzo Booker with everyone he knows in the crowd.

hey, anything can happen. give me the noles by a Cismesia FG late….
