FSU enters the fieldThe ACC has announced “strict” rules regarding the rescheduling of football games due that are affected by hurricanes. The new policy allows for the possibility of the game’s site to be flip-flopped to the opposing team’s field if no neutral site can be found. While the policy states that every effort will be made to play the game at the home site before the championship game (a good thing), it also states that, in the right situation, both teams might have to play on 5 days rest.

Sounds like what we had before the policy… confusion.

In other news, the ACC Champion is now guaranteed to travel to the Orange Bowl, unless the champ is going to the National Title Game. Here’s how it shapes out.

#1 Orange Bowl / BCS Game (ACC Champion)

#2 Peach Bowl

#3 Gator Bowl

#4 Champs Sports Bowl

#5 Music City Bowl

#6 Meineke Car Care Bowl

#7 Emerald Bowl

#8 MPC Computers Bowl

Bowls cannot pass up on a team for one with a lesser record, unless the lesser team is within 1 game of the higher team. This will prevent something like Boston College going to Boise with 9-3 record again.
