For those of you who really know me, you know what you are about to read pains me somewhat (Hey, after all, I am the guy that started the “Chris Rix Evicted” fiasco). However, it needs to be said and I will stand up and be the one to do so. Saturday is Senior Day and I will not boo Chris Rix when his name is announced… and I can only hope the rest of Seminole Land will do the same.’,'Forget all the loses during his tenure. Forget the bonehead plays. Forget the general lack of improvement (non-coaching aided or not). Forget the idiot that he has been off the field. Step out of the negative shadow that seems to follow him and bask in the sunshine that he has brought to THE Florida State University.

What sunshine? Well, he has “won” 25 or 26 games in his career. He has beaten Florida twice and won a bowl game. Until injury and a minor coaching-decision-miracle to bench him, he was sitting on the edge of holding almost every major record at FSU. Physically, he never took a play off, selling out his body at every opportunity.

Most importantly, he grew up wanting to be a Seminole, wanting to play for Bobby Bowden. He MADE his dream come true and he has been true to the Noles in all the areas that nobody ever shows. Everytime the university needs him to promote the cause, he is there, in full garnet and gold. When he goes on his personal missions of faith, he is in garnet and gold. And he very, very, very slow to be critical of the university, the coaches and THE FANS.

Look, I know that when he does all the bad things, yes, he is usually in full garnet and gold. However, as a real Nole fan (for over 30 years), I have to see the good done while in the garnet and gold…and be thankful for that ray of sunshine.

I am not asking you to cheer for Chris Rix when his name is announced on Senior Day…just do not boo him. If the entire stadium held up newspapers when he is announced, a la Duke in basketball, that is better than booing.

Just be a real Seminole fan for one day. Go Noles!
